Anna & Aubrey | Springfield IL Newborn Photographer

I feel so very blessed to have been able to capture adorable Aubrey and Anna.  You see, their mom Jen and I were sorority sisters many, many moons ago when we attended the U of I together.  Through facebook, we discovered that Jen lived only miles away from where my parents now live.   Aubrey and Anna were born quite early and had to spend some time in the NICU and hospital nursery prior to their coming home.  By the time I was able to capture them, they were almost a month old already (but before their actual due date!)

Due to the fact that they were premies and that there family lived a distance from Springfield, we decided for a home-based session.   I hadn’t done a home session in quite some time, since my studio offers an ideal place for newborn sessions, so I was a little nervous.   Fortunately, I had help from a St. Louis area photographer who was shadowing me, Jen Emig.  With both Jen and I there, I opted to bring my studio lights and we set up a mini-studio in their living room.   When we arrived the girls were both sleeping, so I was a little anxious that they wouldn’t sleep for their session, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.  Not only did they sleep the entire session, but between the two of them we only had one tiny potty accident.  Usually with twins I get ready to be pooped or peed on at least 3-4 times in a session.  Seriously, this was one of the easiest sessions I have ever done, and especially for twins!  Their sweet and sleepy demeanor allowed Jen and I to be creative and utilize some creative posing and props.

Thank you Jen E for you help and thank you to Ryan and Jen for allowing me to capture your adorable baby girls.
