Lola | Springfield Chatham IL Newborn Photographer

While sometimes sibling images are the most challenging for a photographer they can be and often times are the most rewarding.  With newborns, I know that they will (at least eventually) fall asleep and I can work with them.  It may take some patience, but they will.   With a toddler, well…you never know what you are going to get.  When Lola and her big sister Evie came into my studio I would say that Evie was a little less than enthused about being a part of the photo session.   Despite mom and dad begging and pleading, she just wasn’t having it.   Fortunately, being the mom of a former toddler, now pre-schooler, I know a few tricks.   First, I had to develop a relationship with her.  We chatted, we laughed, talked about Sofia the first.  Then, I brought out the big guns, my fruit snacks (with approval of mom and dad.)    Once we got a couple clicks in and she saw her adorable little face on the back of my camera Evie was ALL for getting her picture taken and really, it’s no wonder why…look how adorable she is?    After Evie and Dad left Miss Lola became the star of the show and all I can say is that with these two cuties, these parents are going to be in trouble in 12-15 years 🙂

Bayler | Springfield Athens IL Newborn Photographer

From the minute we began his session to the time it ended, Bayler was a dream to work with.  Despite his 15 month old big brother jumping around and “loving” on him with gusto, his easy-going personality just allowed him to relax and enjoy the heat and white noise in my studio.

Brooklyn | Chatham Springfield IL Newborn Photographer

Little miss Brooklyn was such a tiny peanut when she came in for her session.  She had such a sweet personality and barely made a peep throughout her entire session except to alert us of her hunger.   What a darling little angel.

Lanae | Springfield Rochester IL Newborn Photographer

When they came into my studio Lanae’s mom warned me that she had been having some issues with a pretty upset belly since she was born.  I opted to start the session with her wrapped comfortably and thought that maybe the belly issues weren’t that bad.   However, every time I would unwrap little Miss Lanae she would flare her legs and arms and had such a hard time relaxing, let alone sleeping.  It was clear as I tried to pose her that he belly was still bugging her.   Fortunately, my super-tight “ninja-swaddling skills” proved to help Lanae relax and drift off into la-la land.   I didn’t mind keeping her swaddled though as it gave me more time to focus on her adorable pink lips and sweet eye lashes.
