When parents first bring their little ones into my studio, often times they need a lot of settling to get them into the deep, deep sleep we would like them to be in to pose them and such. Lance, was not one of those babies. When I set him down on the beanbag, he was out! Maybe because he is the third child he has adapted in his first week of life to being able to sleep anywhere and everywhere. I am a third child myself and I like to think that as the youngest we tend to be more flexible and adaptable than our older siblings. Maybe though he was just a really good baby.
I feel so blessed at times to be able to work with friends and folks whom I have known over the past few years we have lived in Springfield. Lance’s mom Jessica is one of the first people I met when we moved here. With a tiny 3 month old, I began attending the St. John’s new mom group. Jessica was attending at the time with her middle child Lydia. I remember looking at Jessica balancing her two little ones (he oldest Lane would come along as well) thinking “how does she make it look so easy?” I was struggling with my 1 tiny baby and here she was balancing her tiny baby AND a toddler. It was no different when little Lance came along. Jessica, her husband and their 3 little ones came into the studio and from the minute they arrived to the minute they left everything went so smoothly. She runs a tight ship and her little ones are so sweet and well behaved. I envy her ability to balance it all and make it look so easy.
