When I was first starting out in photography over 8 years ago I was always practicing and taking pictures of my daughter and my friends children.   Over the years I went on to take lots (and lots and lots) of in-person and online courses and all the while I continued to capture the sweet little ones in my life.   I like to think that I have greatly improved while honing my craft and what is really neat is that for those kiddos that I once captured barely toddling around- I now get to see not only their personal growth in images, but also mine as a photographer.   This amazing family is super-special to me and I loved that I have been able to capture their sweet faces throughout the past several years.

One of the things that propelled me into expanding my business to include family portrait sessions is exemplified in the session below.  I remember getting an e-mail from Lexie’s mom a few years ago that they wanted to get newborn images captured of their baby girl.  Flash forward a couple years I get another email that a sweet boy would be expanding their family.   It was such a pleasure to be able to capture these cuties back when they were itty-bitties, but then, to have them return to me has been such a blessing.   When my business was limited to babies up to a year, the only time I got to see families again was when they had another baby but now….I get to capture them as they grow!

Capturing adorable baby bumps is something that I have been doing for many years now.   What has been fun these past few years now though is that many of these clients come back with their former bump being an adorable grown child and a new bump in their belly!    In this way, when a sibling is involved, these maternity sessions turn into more of a family session and that was definitely the case with this adorable and active big-brother to be 🙂
